- Blood Magic Widow

- Defenseless While Casting
Drucilla Darkbane
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Her craft is as terrible as it is delicate. She draws the blood of the fallen into spears, lashes and shimmering barriers, and she can raise the freshly dead to stand at her command. Every working demands her whole mind, which leaves her utterly defenseless while the red light burns, and afterward it leaves her drained for as long as the casting ran. A woman in that state needs guards, so she keeps husbands and secrets close, in that order.
She is rarely seen apart from Maltsar Darkbane, the shadow the realm whispers about, and some say she is seen at all only when she wishes it. Those who have met her report good manners, a tidy graveyard and the persistent feeling of having been politely added to a list. She says her purpose is the realm and the people in it. The realm has not been asked to agree.
The Black Citadel exists like a secret the world forgot how to admit. Hidden within the mists and impossible dark of the Forgotten Reach, it rises in impossible gothic spires, black stone, narrow bridges, blade-thin towers, and windows glowing with crimson and violet light. Storm clouds coil above it, fog clings below it, and the air hums with magic that feels less cast than contained — barely, and with attitude.
Few know the citadel is real, and fewer still could find it twice. Its streets, halls, and high terraces seem arranged by a mind that values mystery more than convenience, with stairways vanishing into shadow and doors that feel like they are deciding whether one is worth opening. The place smells of rain on old stone, candle wax, iron, cold smoke, and power kept behind locked teeth. Charming, in the way a dagger can be charming when it is held by someone attractive and absolutely untrustworthy.
The Black Citadel matters because it is not merely a fortress; it is a hidden seat of darkness, secrecy, and forbidden authority. Crimson magic pulses like a heartbeat through its windows and warded arches, while purple radiance coils in the deeper shadows. Those who reach it step beyond rumor into something older, stranger, and far more dangerous than any map has the nerve to confess.

Elf
Elves carry themselves like the world is a song they learned centuries ago and everyone else is still humming badly. Their beauty is difficult to ignore, but it is their precision that unsettles most observers: the silent footfall, the angled glance, the way their ears shift toward a whispered lie before the mouth finishes shaping it. Magic clings to them as naturally as breath, visible in their stillness, their timing, and the quiet confidence of someone who felt danger before anyone else knew it had entered the room.
They are ancient, graceful, and rarely as delicate as they look. An elf may speak with courtesy, smile like polished moonlight, and still measure every exit, weapon, spell, insult, and weakness within reach. Their long lives make them patient, but not harmless; patience only gives a sharp mind more time to choose where the blade belongs.
Among shorter-lived peoples, elves often inspire fascination, resentment, desire, and the occasional extremely bad romantic decision. Their elegance can read as arrogance, their restraint as judgment, and their attention as invitation when it may only be curiosity. Still, when an elf does choose to act, bargain, fight, or flirt, the moment tends to linger long after wisdom says it should have been forgotten.
