The Honeyed Hollow
At the edge of the Sunlit Glade, where the gold light starts to fade into the deeper wood, an old tree has let a tavern grow inside its roots. The Honeyed Hollow has polished wooden tables, cups carved from fallen branches, and a ceiling of living roots threaded with blossom.
It serves honeyed mead, fresh bread and berries from the glade, and on warm evenings its musicians play out over the flowers until the stars come out. Travelers say it is the gentlest place in the whole wood.
Some evenings a quiet woman from the old bough comes to sit by the window and listen. The musicians always play softer when she is there, and nobody ever disturbs her.
