The Inkwell
The Inkwell leans into a lane beside Wyndcroft's quads as if it, too, has been up all night studying, all warm-lit timber and stone with a little terrace out front. Its rooms are small, crooked and lit by more candles than is strictly wise, and every table is stained with ink from a hundred furious arguments.
Students come for hot bitterbrew, honey cakes and a place to complain about their lecturers. The lecturers come for something stronger and a place to complain about their students. Both groups pretend not to see each other.
The favorite argument, old as the academy itself, is which Velkrane truly runs Wyndcroft: the Headmaster or the Headmistress. The second favorite is whose candle burns latest, up the hill.
