The Mistline Inn
The road runs on for a long way through the Forgotten Reach, and then it stops being a road and becomes fog. Right at that edge stands the Mistline Inn: one lantern, one long room, and a sign so weathered that the name is mostly guesswork.
Travelers who stop here talk in low voices, eat what they are given, and leave before dark. The innkeeper is courteous, careful and absolutely unwilling to say what lies beyond the mist.
Most of the guests are coming down from the Talonreach Mountains, cold and glad of the fire. Very few are heading the other way, and the innkeeper always notices which ones.
