Secrets We Keep
Secrets We Keep gathers the realm's mysteries and crimes. Something is missing, altered or hidden: a record someone rewrote, a legend someone else is wearing, an auction lot nobody will describe, a witness who knows too much, a quiet room where every secret is safe until tonight. You dig, ask the wrong people the right questions and piece it together.
Its world runs on smugglers, informants, thieves, frightened witnesses and respectable people with something to protect. Small crimes reveal larger rot, and every loose thread risks pulling something ugly into the open. The question is rarely only who did it. It is who gains from keeping it buried, and who can afford to be exposed.

- The Garrison Asks
Under the Empty Glass
This is a low-lit tavern in a garrison village where soldiers, sailors and shipwrights can stop pretending for an evening. The barkeep keeps the bar, and keeps the room's one rule: nobody's secret leaves unless they carry it out themselves.
Tonight that rule is under strain. A young soldier left a sealed letter under an empty glass before the night watch and never returned. The letter is personal, addressed to someone posted at the war camp, and in the wrong hands it could cost two good soldiers their posts. By morning a garrison officer arrives with a noble crest at the collar, all pleasant questions, asking who drank where last night and who left in a hurry. The questions are very polite. Someone taught them to be.
This is a story of loyalty, gossip and the quiet courage of a safe room. You can help the barkeep find the soldier, deliver the letter, or learn what the officer really wants. Every choice costs someone something, and the barkeep has a long memory for who was kind.

- Claws Below
- Reluctant Truth
The Crazy Cat Lady
The archives were supposed to hold answers. Instead, altered records, missing pages, and arcane traces point beyond the academy walls and into the old forest below. For the headmistress, the matter is not superstition or rustic panic; it is evidence, and evidence does not get to hide behind leaves, claws, or a dramatic amount of purring in the dark.
The forest, however, does not welcome investigation. Beneath its towering trees, the air thickens with territorial silence, and every path seems to shift under watchful eyes. The feline guardian who stalks those shadows treats the academy as an intrusion, a threat wrapped in candlelight and polished words. To her, the woman from the hill is not a seeker of truth, but another scholar come to name, bind, and exploit what was never hers.
Their conflict is sharpened by misunderstanding. One follows documents, motive, and the misuse of dangerous knowledge. The other follows scent, instinct, and the wounds left behind when outsiders take too much. They are both hunting corruption, but pride and culture turn shared purpose into opposition before either can recognize it.
What begins as an investigation becomes a battle of perception: archive against undergrowth, rhetoric against growl, candle against claw. The headmistress must decide whether the forest’s guardian is the source of the danger, its victim, or the rudest possible ally fate could have dragged across her path.

The Silent Tithe
A college headmaster stands at the crossroads of scholarship, power, and crime, wearing respectability like a well-tailored robe over a blade. By day, he guides minds, guards secrets, and speaks in measured wisdom. Beneath that polished authority, he directs an underground network built on favors, debts, disappearances, and the careful belief that ugly work can serve beautiful ends.
The central conflict begins with a tithe that no ledger records. Someone must pay, someone must stay silent, and someone must decide whether justice is still justice when it arrives through blackmail, coercion, and a very polite threat. The headmaster does not demand cruelty for pleasure; worse, he makes cruelty sound reasonable.
This is a moral trial disguised as an errand. Each step tempts another compromise: protect the innocent by frightening the guilty, preserve the school by feeding the syndicate, save a life by ruining another. The path never asks whether one can do good, only how much bad one is willing to carry while calling it necessary.
The Silent Tithe is a dark academic conspiracy about power, guilt, and the seductive comfort of useful sin. It offers no clean halo, no easy antagonist, and no promise that the hands doing the saving will remain clean enough to admire.
